Most ya'll have a better memory than mine, but I mentioned a huge pecan tree looming over my house.....

has a 3' diameter base not 5' from my back door. Lightening a few years back got it (and our roof). A close encounter with a goofy tree monkey cleared away the hanging debri.

I mentioned before the drought might kill it leaving us with a huge tree and no financial way of dealing with it.

It's half dead. I want to save it more than anything. Let's pretend I have the money to pay for tree trimming.

Can someone tell me what should be done? I can get pictures, if need be. I figure the procedures are pretty standard:

1) Cut of all dying sections to allow the tree focus on live sections.

2) Pray for a wet winter.
