There are some varieties that are claimed to be hardy down to the 20's and some teens but typically when talking about tropicals it means for a short time like a few hours. Our winters will surely kill one left outside. But the rest of our season is just fine for them and many other tropicals. I just ate my first homegrown pineapple and made a key lime pie from my own limes. You just gotta keep them warm during winter.

Yes they do go into my greenhouse for winter. The pineapple are very easy to grow from a top and can get by with lower light levels in winter. Citrus prefer to have as much light as possible. They can both be overwintered in a sunny window with a few precautions if that is all thats available.. Check out the citrus forum here if you decide to get one.. or two LOL
