planting garlic

Hi everyone.

This spring I planted a bed of Jersey suprem Aspargus

and they are growing well, But now for reasons theres no need to go into, I've got to move the bed.

So the question is can I dig and transplant them this fall?

I feel this sould be done before frost, so would it be all

right to just cut the ferns back and transplant them, 'How deep and how long before the frost.

Also will this set them back another year? before I can harvest any?

This has been the only time I've ever tried to grow aspargus, as I don't like it, But DW love's it, so I want to give it it's best chance to make it.

And in any case I have got to move it.

I appreciate any help you all can give me.

James.
