Dwarf Plum Tree Pruning

I planted this tree two springs ago. The first year it did nothing. This year it actually grew! I am looking for some advice on how to prune this tree properly. I am a little reluctant to do so in fear of doing it wrong and hurting my tree that took two years to show any growth!
I have attached a picture of it. I am assuming the best time to do the pruning would be around February?
