I think most of us would be quite happy to have either your orchids or your photos Charles. If you can spare the time I'd like to know how you "do" yours. They are obviously done indoors. Do you use a screen? I'd like to know how you get that subtle lighting effect.
Thats weird,I thought I posted yesterday.Anyway, all the medium to small plants are shot in my bedroom using a medium light gray wall.Depending on how much light you use and let in to your camera you can get colors from blue to black.I have 1 photo lamp that has a blue 500 watt photo bulb.I usually dont use the reflector that comes with it.I just shine it off the ceiling and use the camera with different setting till I get the one I like. Also doing it this way there is hardly any glare spots on the photo.I have a photo umberella but I hold it about 99% of the time. The lighting and angle you can get are endless. Ill take a photo and post it and hopefully you can get an idea of how I do my orchid photography. One other point about the photo lamp and blue bulb. When using on white and other light colors,I set the camera setting to auto. But reds, orange, pink and so-on I use the daylight setting. Both give better results for the photo taken, then just adjust the light and sharpness and there you go. Hope this helps.Photos will be in a day or 2. Charles B.
