Soon after bllooming, it will go deciduous and requires a dry rest until it produces the new growth. One semipendulous spike 3 years ago, 2 last year, 3 this year so we are moving along.

Wonderful orchid. Clever grex name as well. The RHS has the Genera name as Fredclarkeara just to add confusion among orchid growers.

Fantastic Nick! You should try growing one division cool and one warm. Ten to one the warm won't be quite as dark, more reddish.

This one is growing warm. Now, without any special effort it photographed black, the Dracula Raven despite all different angles and lights never did, always a little brown. To the naked eye, both look the same.

Does the different photographing characteristic imply that one is darker, more black?

Only seen black orchids at a show, twice. Love them.
