Olya, I'm growing them in a solid roofed shadehouse in Melbourne, Australia (see link). They're grown in sphagnum with the pots standing in a shallow tray of water. The plants are watered with rainwater. Melbourne's tap water is low in TDS so when the rainwater runs out I'll use tapwater. I add fertilizer to the water trays to a TDS of ~100ppm. They're under 50% shade cloth, increasing to 75% in summer to avoid leaf and flower damage caused by overheating. Admittedly Melbourne's climate is not perfect for these plants and I still battle with heat damage in summer.
Bayard, Yellow unifloras usually lack vigour. "Christmas Gold" is quite a vigorous clone and I find it to be as easy to grow as the red unifloras. According to the September 2006 Orchid Digest this clone is avialable in the UK. I don't know if it has crossed the Atlantic.
