Having 100+ plants (not counting small seedlings), I guess this is my reward for the labor on watering them almost every 3-5 days (mostly at night after work) for the entire year for I have all of them in semi-hydro media.

So far, what seems to be working for me in growing indoor/under lights condition is CFL LIGHTS + SEMI-HYDRO (I only apply fertilizer during the summer months if I won't forget)

I am amazed that you are gowing all of these plants under Compact fluorescents. I'd love to see a photo of your setup. How do you deal with the humidity requirements? Thx

Here's the pic of my grow area. Nothing special about it. Basically, all plants are under 2 flourescent lamp (warm/cold) per tier and the hard-to-bloom ones get a dose of CFL from the clip-on lamps. The plants closer to the blinds enjoy direct Eastern sun for 2-4 hours at 4 months a year (late Spring-Early Fall; mornings only).

I have not used any humidifiers nor I am maintaining a certain humidity. What I have in my living room, the plants get it.

Be generous in the amount/quality of light you give to your plants and this is the best advice I got from this forum (it came from Howard, the GW light guru. Thanks Howard!).

What I meant by semi-hydro is the usage of aliflor media with some charcoal and bark mixed in it.
