Hey Mr B, is this plant everblooming like E. cochleata or are the spikes of limited duration?

They're of limited duration, although the flowers last a really long time. My cochleata isn't everblooming. :(

My absolutely favorite fragrance! Yours is blooming great from just a few growths.
Any idea what I am doing wrong---lots of new growths but, just when I think they are starting to spike, it turn into a new plant growing out of the top of the lst growth intstead of a spike???
It has done this for the second year now. I'm longing to smell that beautiful frangrance again!

Jan, this is only the second succesful blooming for me. Last year was the first time and I got the plant back around 2003. So, I don't know any secrets other than time. I had mine outside for 7 or 8 months getting some intense western sun in the afternoons, so try bumping up the light this year maybe?

It's gorgeous MB. Apparently the newest genus for it is Anacheilium. It's moved through prosthechea since it was an encyclia. And before encyclia, epidendrum. (Did I miss any?) Poor thing, just can find a home! And who is still confusing radiata with fragrans? Lovely plant!
