Beautiful blooms! Are they fragrant?

Or maybe an Encyclia. Beautiful photograph. It's cold and gray in Minnesota today, with several inches of snow on the ground. Where do you live that's so warm you can put orchids in the trees, if you don't mind saying?

Bollopetalum Midnight Blue is a cross between Bollea violacea x Zygopetalum B. G. White. Lovely flowers and photograph.

I was drooling over an orchid vendor's website and swear I came across this plant's name. I mentally earmarked it for purchase because it sounded interesting, but when I went to order, it had disappeared from their site (sold out?). I never pursued it. The flowers are sure colorful!

How are your tree orchids faring in the Santa Ana winds? They're one thing I really don't miss with the move (we were in Tustin).

The fowers are not fragrant,at least I cant smell them.
The tree orchids are doing fine,the Santa Ana's dont bother us that much,we are on the downside of a hill and the hill itself and the oak trees break the wind so its not that powerful.

I just got one too, courtesy of Trader Joe's! $8 for the most exquisite looking orchid I've ever bought! That's not to say it'll last, because some of the orchids I've got in Trader Joe's seem to come with fungus or weak roots, but it's about the price of a bouquet anyways...
I can smell a little fragrance too, but barely. Just as much as the standard Hawaiian dendrobium lei :)
