Cycnoches cooperi
The full name of this plant is Cycnoches cooperi 'Hihimanu' x cooperi 'H&R'. I absolutely fell in love with C. cooperi the first time I saw it. This is it's first bloom for me. It appears to be dark burgundy in light not directly on the flowers, but in the light, the copper color is stunning. There's no fragrance that I can detect. On my monitor, there's a touch of green on the flowers that is not there on the actual flowers. 12 flowers.
On a side note, the freakin' dog nearly took this plant out while I was at work today. DH came home first, and put the plant back in the grow area (after scooping/cleaning up...he's a real keeper!). The only loss to the plant was that a few pollinia were shot off.
Anyway, I have waited *soooo lonnnggg* for this plant to bloom - nearly a year! ;) I just go soft when I look at it. The copper really shimmers. I highly recommend that you cyc lovers get this plant!
