Found in Ecuador at around 2000 meters, this is an uncommon species and relatively new to cultivation (2005). Flowers are around ½ inch on a 2-inch plant. I grow this one cool (53-70 F) and moist with high humidity. ItÂs been throwing out flowers most of the winter and theyÂre surprisingly long lasting. Even without flowers, the plant is quite attractive.
