According to some authors, this plant is not pure mossiae, but a hybrid with lueddemaniana called C. Gravesiana.

Very nice!
I've almost bought myself one, several times.
Probably should just go ahead and do it!;~)
Three flowers?
Or...are there more?

Even if considered a hybrid to some, the flowers are beautiful.

How long does the bloom typically last?

Thanks for your comments!

Scott - There were two inflorescences originally. This one had four flowers, but I removed one so that the flowers wouldn't crowd.

Harvey - The flowers last at least three weeks.

Here's a better shot with the petals more open:

Cool, 3 weeks+. I'll get one this coming spring at Hausermann.

IMHO, maybe this is why some think it's Gravesiana:
1) The lips are 'rounder' than most Mossiaes I've seen. It's shape is like C. Leudd. 'Arthur Chadwick'
2) Darker magenta coloration occurs more frequent in C. Leudds than in Mossiaes
3) I read somewhere that the natural habitat of the two species overlap.

Still, it's shape/form can compete or beat modern hybrids.
