Beallara Tahoma Glacier

| This is probably one of the best known of all orchid hybrids. I've had this plant for about 5 years though it is only about the 3rd time it has flowered during that period. Maybe it would like cooler temperatures.

Pretty plant. I grow it, and was actually surprised by how much light it likes. Maybe higher light levels would do it? Olya |

I just purchased one today...how are you two growing yours? This one came in straight sphag...soaking wet. Leaves are a yellow-green so I'm assuming it has been getting alot of light. Thx! |

| wow, Ifraser I am really enjoying the unique coloration of this orchid. You say it's the most known? Perhaps in Brazil. We in Kansas never see this beauty! It looks very unique in this newbie's eyes! I love it! Does it have any fragrance? just curious? I'm sure under my hands it'd only bloom once in 7 years, LOL! |

| Very pretty! How tall does it grow? Sheila :) |

| Mine isn't very tall. Maybe about a foot? I used to see these all the time in Trader Joe's, back when I used to work nearby and could go on my lunch break. I basically have two of these - one of them doesn't have Tahoma Glacier in the name but pretty much looks identical. I've never noticed a fragrance, except for a faint apricot scent in the flowers once they've dried. I like it. I've been giving them both more light this year, so I hope I get a good blooming. Last year left something to be desired, but I didn't water as much as I should have. |

| Light is not a problem here or rather it is the reverse, I have to take care not to let the plants burn. I don't think it should be grown in sphagnum, certainly not very wet sphagnum. Mine is in tree fern ( yes I still have some). It likes plenty of water for all that, but as it only gets watered when the Almighty decides it might get more some years than others. |
