A cold growing swamp/stream-bed plant found in Portugal, Spain, France, Corsica, Sardinia, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Yugoslavia, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Ukraine, Kazakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Iran. And anywhere in between!! Got a dormant tuber this summer, kept it dark and totally dry until planting in October. After that, full sun, daily watering, it sprouted and made this flower. After the flower and leaves fade, I'll be unearthing the tuber (hopefully more than one), put it in a dry zip-lock baggie and keep it dry, dark and warm all summer. Hopefully the cycle repeats itself next year. Lots of hope there, have never seen one before.
