Amorphophallus konjac

I finally bloomed this beast after 3 years! Right now it tops out at slightly over 4 feet and is actually blooming inside. I just brought it outside for the pics.

The fragrance of this flower can only be described as eye watering  very much like a few, very dead, very ripe squirrels locked in your garage on a hot summer day. Why do I grow these things??

It blooms without soil. The tuber started out 3 years ago about the size of a quarter and now weighs around 3 lbs. ItÂs my understanding it will only continue to increase in size over the years and can reach over 10 lbs. Once the flower fade, IÂll plant it in my garden for the summer. The foliage is very cool  almost like some ancient palm tree.
