Although now outdated, many of these spectacular little plants are still sold as Oncidium Equitant - mine was. Equitant simply means "with overlapping leaves" and is neither a species nor a specific hybrid, more a type like Yamamoto Dendrobium for example. For some time this type of Oncidium has had its own genus, Tolumnia, which is especially prevalent in the Caribbean.I'm not sure it will like my conditions (on the cool side), but I have a number of other Oncidiums which do very well, so I thought I would give it a try.I will make sure it gets a little extra sun.
