Heading into Autumn, Southern Hemisphere.
Pterostylis coccinea
Pterostylis coccinea
Microcoelia exilis. Leafless orchid from Southern Africa. Very tiny blooms. Benched in Miniature Section.

Masdevallia Whiskers. Hybrid, surface of flower covered with tiny hairs.

Dendrobium lithocola. The new name for Den. bigibbum var. compactum

Lovely specimens.
We have one more show this season till our autumn.
I noticed a much greater variety of orchid species in the private show section.
I love the Pterostylis coccinea

Alas, the Dendrobium is not mine.
There are some 90 orchid Societies in the State of NSW. Most are General Orchid Societies where the members try to grow everything.
There is one Cymbidium only orchid society. Several species only orchid societies and quite a few Australian Native Orchid Societies.
One advantage being in the Southern Hemisphere is that at Christmas there are the least number of orchids in bloom.
