This has just finished flowering. I took this photo of a single flower to show the shape and colour as best I could. I've had this plant for 11 years and it is very reliable flowering through March / April each year. One of Frank Fordyce's classic crosses. It has Slc. California Apricot 'Orange Circle' as one parent which was a very successful breeding plant, along with the other parent Slc. Jewel Box. There are several cultivars. This one was named in honour of Orinda orchids which used to be next door to Fordyce orchids (and Tonkins), before the whole nursery area was turned over to a housing development....
