Promenaea NOID

This came with the tag Promenaea Winelight. Obviously it is not. I am thinking it is likely a Prom. xanthina or one it is hybrids. Whatever it is, I really like it.

If there are any guesses on the ID, I would like to hear them.

Here is a link that might be useful: Promenaea NOID1

Try Promenea Limelight. Limelight x xanthia looks very much like it. Nice flower.

Thanks for the follow up, Nick. I think you could be right. The flower does look similar to the Limelight x xanthia.

I wrote to the vendor and they are looking into it too. I would really like to have the correct name for the tag.

My Promenea xanthia just opened up. This is a species not a hybrid, no Limeiight in that one. Looks very similar to yours.

Thanks for sharing your picture, Nick. Mine is pretty similar to yours. But mine has significant barring on the lip. Maybe that is what indicates that mine is a hybrid?

Also I heard back from the seller. They put the picture into OrchidWiz, and it came back as a Winelight, which is not possible. I am not sure what to do about the tag. I guess just NOID.

I would call it xanthia. When you Google it there are a number of photos with lip markings.

When I entered this link they showed a xanthia with prominent bars, now they show an Ada. Oh well, bounce around the Prom xanthia page and you'll see flowers with bars.

Ah. I see now. Thank you for sharing the link. That xanthina is really close to mine in appearance. Promenaea xanthina it is!
