Extremely nice also.I have seen this labeled as Psychopsis papilio var.alba or just plain "yellow form". Is that incorrect then?

when I acquired the seedling it was labelled Mariposa var alba. Do you not think the shape is much more slender than the standard papilio, or maybe my papilio which is much more 'chunky' if thats the right word, may be something else!

I do like it michoice! You said seedling, how many psbs does your plant have? How tall is the bloom, spike? I lost my papilio and now have a small seedling plant and I'm looking to buy another psychopsis, haven't decided which one yet.

Hi granniek, this plant is in a 3.5 inch pot, has one leading bulb about 1.25 ins. across backed up by two smaller bulbs and a minute one. The spike is about 24 ins. long. My previous posting of papilio(still on this page) is huge by comparison. The leading bulbs are over two ins. across the leaves 15 ins. long and about 5 ins. across, the spike over two feet long all crammed in a 5 inch pot and it has to be repotted very soon, oh dear! I have no idea just how large this species can grow, maybe someone out there will tell us. Peter

Nice! More delicate-looking than the orange ones, like a damsel-fly compared to dragon flies. I've seen the yellow ones sold as 'alba' and 'aurea' both.

I've got one (and mine's half the size of my orange psychopses also), but it's cursed -- first bud was eaten, then the spike tip burned, then it branched, then one branch stalled and the other bloomed but the flower was deformed (one petal only)... now both have buds and I'm holding my breath...
