Oh but Stitz, I agree with michoice, it's fascinating to watch. I also got to watch my blooming plant die in a matter of two days. I am shopping for a replacement!!! I love this plant/blooms.
My black background consists of a piece of plywood painted matt black.(water based emulsion paint) My photographic studio is situated in my sitting room by a large window facing south. I have a rather flimsy tripod on to which a 10 inch square piece of plywood has been attached. This makes an ideal plant stand and is of course adjustable for height. No further props required apart from my camera and tripod. The whole thing comes together in about 5 minutes.
