Ionopsis satyrioides (fleshyleaf violet orchid)

One of my very few mounted orchids - they're just too hard to keep wet! Anyway this hangs less about inches below the end of 2 x 40 W long fluorescent tubes, and has literally been in bloom since January. Not the same flowers, but the same spike. It's pretty cool actually. This was a new spike in Jan, and out popped all of these tiny buds at several nodes along it. The open fairly quickly, and last 7-10 days I guess. They rapidly die and then within a week or so there are new buds coming out of the same nodes on the spike. And it starts all over again. A good bloom looks like little clouds. I wish it would giveup on the flowers and start a new growth! Maybe this fall. That's when I traded for it, and the new plant had only started. Then it bloomed in Jan.
Anyway...
