I like this picture of my A. grandiflorus, because it seems to me that this is the way one would likely see it in nature, in the jungle shade somewhere.
Love it. How big is the flower? I have one growing under a tree which has blooming from two spikes for months. I think its Aer Grandiose. My flowers are small and greenish. Your flower looks huge!
Jane - I just measured it - from the tip of one petal to the tip of the opposite sepal, it is 4.75" (12 cm.) I have A. Grandiose as well, and its flowers are smaller and greener, about 3" across. one of the nice things about these plants is the way they bloom successively as long as it stays relatively warm and the humidity is high.
