It's always a big moment of excitement when you find a big orchid growing in the wild and there are several places locally where Zygopetalums can be found, sometimes in large clumps. Walking in mountain jungle is not to be taken lightly, however, especially when you are 60+ and I have not found a location that did not involve some scrambling, so was unable to take my camera. I'm afraid therefore you will have to be content with this shot of my own "tame" plant. All the plants I have seen have been terrestrial/lithophytic. It has a beautiful,strong rose-like scent.
