Pleurothallis imperialis

This plant has been a bit of an enigma to me. I got one 13 years ago and noticed it was listed as one of the 6 giants of the Pleuro world. The others are Pleuro marthae, teagui, gargantua and collosus. Another one, regina, is also listed but probably refers to a Masdevallia. My plant lingered and never grew. I got marthae, teagui and gargantua, regina is a mistake and colossus has evaded me so far.

When I finally gave up on my imperialis I could not find one to replace it. Simply not available. Then suddenly they became available (Ecuagenera has it) and I've had this one for 2 years, finally bloomed. It is anything but a giant, half the size of marthae, teagui and gargantua, my hand allows a size evaluation. I don't know why it is listed as one of the giants of the Pleuro world.

This leaves colossus which so far has eluded me.

Andy has one in his personal collection but won't part with any of it. Maybe I can trade him one of my grand kids for it. If anyone has an idea where one can be obtained please let me know.

Nick
