Amazing blooms! Does this one ever bloom on old canes or just the newest mature one?

Another that i bought with high hopes and failed to grow. Sigh!

Seeing this great flowering just makes it worse.

Thanks Calvin and Arthur. Calvin, interestingly it does bloom off old canes, infact this was one of the older canes. I have not seen this with the pierardi and anosmum.

Thanks Sheila and Olya. There is no fragrance that I can detect.

SO Pretty, Sambac! I love the gradation of pinks--brilliant without being gawdy.

Wow! Now tell us how you do it!
Same zone.
Have three new growths with gorgeous leaves that have not bloomed yet. Two old canes bloomed last winter/early spring, but not with the lushness you have.
How much light? Any changes between summer and winter growing?
TIA
Jan

Thanks Sc, Kev and Jan. Jan, it is in a basket, literally with no medium. Try gradually increasing the light . I don't withhold water, but all my dends probably get less water in the winter.

Withhold fertilizer in winter?
Thanks!
