| One of the rupiculous (stone-growing) Laelias. Wonderful color but not easy, must have very fresh air and strong light incl. some direct sun. Tolerates a very wide range of diurnal temperature. No water until well into spring. I note that this plant from the Brazilian National Exhibition has limestone chippings, which I do not agree with. In its natural habitat it grows in basic (neutral or acidic rock) not alkaline as here.

| Yes, it looks awful doesn't it, but wouldn't you look a bit parched if you had gone 4 months without water? I have seen several rupiculous Laelias in collections that looked better than this, except their owners complained they never flowered! - Ian. |
