Beallara Marfitch 'Howard's Dream' AM/AOS

Here you go, Lellie!

A first blooming of one of my few hybrids.

It just seemed like one of those that you have to have.

With the ease of growth and high capacity for neglect,

I think they're right! ;~)

Scott, while I could be wrong, I don't think that is a Beallara Marfitch 'Howard's Dream' -- it looks like a Colmanara [or whatever that cross has been renamed as]

    Nice flowers though.

    Yes, definitely not Bllra. Marfitch.

    But cute, yes.

    Well...crap!
    Sorry, Lellie!

That's what the tag says, although I could of mixed things up.
I bought it about a year ago and haven't paid much attention to it.

    I just assumed...
    Hmmm!
I don't have any of those Calamari thingys in my lists, anywhere!

    O.K!
The closest that I can find is this!
    Colmanara Jungle Monarch 'Everglades' HCC/AOS

    No idea!
    Never heard of it!
    Anyone want it?

    Just kiding.
I actually sort of like it.
I could of either been a free one or a mix up!
    Tough little bugger, anyway! ;~)

I'll have to look around and see if I don't have one somewhere after all.

LMBO Scott...I just now came over here to look at your lovely Marfitch and thought of posting:

    "R U shoooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrr??????????????" LOL

That is a Colmanara of sorts...a lot of Orchid 'folks' don't care for them...kinda like a Phal, I reckon...personally, I like them, even if they are a 'dime-a-dozen'.
(and on a side-note...I like Phals, too...don't care what the general consensus is...hehehe!

    Here's my 'Wildcat':
    {{gwi:202673}}

Here's a not-so-good shot of the last couple of blooms on my Marfitch...it's barren now...*sniff:

    Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...calamari!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Goes great wif

As an mostly unrepetent species snob, I couldn't I.D. very many hybrids/etc if my life depended on it! ;~)
I just never gave it a second thought and went with what the tag said.
I spent more time getting a good photo than I did looking it up.
(and that was only 10 minutes or less)

Give me a really unusual one that's virtually impossible to grow and I'll research it into the ground.
An unbalanced/obsessive personality is all I have to work with! ;~)

Some of those 'dime-a-dozen' plants really are very nice.
I don't know why things that actually like to grow is given such disrespect.
I actually have always loved the species Phals!
I've just alway killed every one that I've had! :~(
    I'd like to try again...someday!

    Sniffle...sniffle
I found out that I'm allergic to beer and probably also the way that I've always liked my calamari!
I'm gluten intolerant and yeast(both bakers and brewers) make me sick! :~(
I don't miss beer, but I really loved calamari rings!
I kow that there're subsitutions, but they just aren't the same thing!

I had to look up what LMBO meant and I liked Denis Leary's version! ;~)

Your orchid is probably Colm Wildcat'Gold Ring' although you have more white in the lip. There is some variation on the specimums I have had.

I have raised many Brlla Marfitch and yours is not it. Here are two good photos of the plant.

    Beats the heck outa me!
I just went with the first one that I saw that looked like it.
As a Bulbo nut, I realise that allowances for variation have to be considered.

So..you're sure that's what it is?
The lip is completely white, with no yellow at all.

    "...yours is not it."
Yeah, I sorta got that by now. ;~)
I couldn't tell one of these from a Epidendrum!
    Never really been my thing.
    Thanks!

By the way, gorgeous plants and photos! :~)
