Man-made genera are usually horribly complicated but this one is relatively straightforward, being made up of just 4 primary species (Cochlioda noezliana x Miltoniopsis vexillaria) x (Cochlioda densiflora x Odontoglossum harryanum). The wonderful red color comes from the 2 Cochliodas. If you add a fifth species in a fifth genus, the mighty Oncidium leuchochilum, the largest Oncidium,with unusual chocolate brown and white flowers you get a fifth genus Burrageara, in this case Stephan Isler.
