Very nice. My daughter lives in Huntington Beach, the weather is perfect for orchid growing. Close to the ocean, humidity higher than where I live in Lakewood, at the height of summer heat, not as hot and in the winter not as cold. Nice display.

You are right about that Nick. I used to live in Long Beach and with the Palos Verdes peninsula blocking all the ocean breezes, it was always about 10 degrees warmer and a lot drier than here in HB. But here I also have to fight with the constant damp coolness, leads to a lot of rot. So unless you are growing cloud forest types of plants it can sometimes be too wet here. But my Odont hybrids love it :)

And this one is C. marstersoniae, a seedling purchased from Santa Barbara Orchid Estates last year, it is blooming for the first time now. A cross between loddigesii and labiata I think.

And this is a no-name white cattleya hybrid, I got from a friend who got it off the prize table at an orchid society meeting in Long Beach, CA over 30 years ago

Wow Nick, that white cat that Kawamoto has on auction looks so close to mine, but mine is definitely not new, I got it back in the early 80's. He notes it is a cross between C. Earl and C. Princess Bells and looking at photos on line of both of them, this could be either. I also looked up photos of C. Bow Bells, another oldie that is very similar. So, I guess it will remain a NOID, but one that I like, smells great, blooms reliably and can be parked outside here in So Cal.
