My favorite brassavola species. I'm a morning person and always miss the fragrance. Gotta set the alarm clock next time! LOL

Mine did not smell very strong or very good at first, but over the course of several evenings the scent became more easy to detect, and as it did, it became sweeter. The smell was not pleasant - kind of musty first. Eventually it became somewhat like jasmine.

Your photo really shows off the beauty of the blooms. It's one of the best I've seen of this plant.

Oooopps. Forgot to acknowledge Petrichor as the Photographer. This orchid (from my vague memory) was probably from H & R in Hawaii via an Australian nursery. Perhaps a bit of selection and line breeding to select superior forms compared against the wild forms.

Sheila, just a few feet away is my pet St. Andrews Cross spider. Didn't have the heart to evict her from the glasshouse.

That really is a fantastic bunch of blooms. My little one continues to grow, but is probably years away from flowering.
