Nice entertainment for the kitties. My two would be going crazy trying to get out!!! I wonder how mine would react to being out in a blanket of snow.....I'd love to see it happen!

In Britain grey squirrels are not very well regarded. When I was a kid I remember the only squirrels were the beautiful little red ones. Nowadays they have have been driven out of most places in England by these bumptious N American invaders and only survive in a few remote locations.One of man's countless mistakes with nature.

Thanks everyone, I do appreciate your comments. Sheila, cats don't generally like snow, but in my cats' case, they did sneak out when they were younger-just curious I guess. Not any more! :)

ifraser, I couldn't agree with you more! We used to have a lot of red squirrels, and saw the first grey squirrel in our yard about 3 years ago. In fact, a few days ago I jokingly asked a friend in Toronto (who visited me a few years ago), if she "snuck" in a few squirrels while she was here!

We even have a black squirrel or 2 (but don't see them in winter), and these 2 type of squirrels were never seen here 'til very recently.
