Kill the Bermuda

My post keeps disappearing and I'm not sure why. If it is misclassified please let me know.

We are prepping an area of the yard for vegetable garden planting. We've tilled up the mostly-dead Bermuda grass and added compost in with it. I know that once the sun warms up and water is applied, that tilled up Bermuda Grass is going to sprout. I'm wondering how to kill it remove it without using chemicals.

I did read a bit on solarizing the soil but that it can only be done in the heat of the summer and takes a few weeks so thats not an option because I want to plant in March.

Thanks for any input!
