SweetFeed vs. Protein Meal (another newbie question)

ooook....I put down the sweet feed for the molasses in hopes that it will help prevent fire ants this spring. I also put down some greensand. Do I still need to put down a "meal" or alfalfa pellets for my spring application? From what I can tell, the sweet feed is mostly molasses coated grains. Do the grains do the same thing that cornmeal or alfalfa pellets would do for the soil?

thanks.

ps. My lawn was treated by TruGreen for 5 years until this past fall/winter when we decided to cancel our account with them and convert to mostly organic, so my yard is still transitioning.

Sweetfeed should be perfect for what you want to do. Where did you get that idea? I'm guessing you live in the Dallas area.

Got the idea from here! (link below) Not Dallas - closer to the College Station area. Thanks for the help!

Here is a link that might be useful: Thread that mentions SweetFeed
