On my way-but still have questions on sequence

I have been using an organic plan for the past two years on my 4 year old sodded new home lawn. I started by dethatching and reseeding, using organic fertilizers, some compost, and CGM in the Spring for weed control. This has worked quite well but I have questions for this years plan. I plan on adding much more organic matter in the form of compost first thing this Spring over top of new grass seeds, and then some fertilizer. I have purchased CGM for weed control but want to make sure it won't negatively affect the growth of the seed. In what order should I do this? Seed is too expensive to possibly mess up its growth potential. But I don't want to wait too long to have the CGM be ineffective. A timeline would be helpful. Anyone???

Thanks.
