Anyone using 'Jonathan Green Organics'

My local outlet nursery is carrying this product for the first time. here is the propoganda:

This granular formulation of corn cluten provides pre-emergent weed control plus an organic fertilizer. Use on lawns, landscape beds, and in vegetable gardens for all of your yardwide projects. It is safe to apply where children and pets play. This patented technology will control many grassy weeds, such as Crabgrass and broadleaf weeds, such as Dandelions and over 10 + weeds! Family friendly! 9-0-0. Do not seed with this product.

Is anyone using this stuff? do you think it will be good?

(this goes for $34.99 at 50lb. CGM goes for $45.00 at 50lb and I have to drive additional 20minutes to get it)

It's CGM repackaged. I'm surprised that CGM is so expensive there. Is the $45 CGM at a lawn center or a feed store?

I was surprised at the price too. That price was quoted from Agway. I called a bunch of feed stores and most dont carry CGM just corn meal. I live in some horse country too. I just dont get it.

I emailed the company and he said it is a great sugary consistency. easy to spread. he reccomended 10lb per sq if you had moderate to no crabgrass last year. they say go to 20lb if you had a problem lsat year.

10 to 20lbs per 1,000 sq ft is the usual recommendation for CGM. Up to 20lbs reportedly improves crab grass prevention. Additional amounts beyond 20lbs don't improve weed prevention much, if at all.

What county are in? I have been searching for 2 years for CGM at any local agway or feed store and haven't found any yet. Wondering how far a drive your Agway is for me? Can you tell me which Agway it is? We live in Orange County, NY.

I am going to start my yearly round of calls, and if I find any other places, I will let you know.

I am in Putnam county. The Agway is in Danbury Ct. I picked up the product this weekend and it is not 100% CGM. it is 80% CGM plus bone meal,soybean meal and something else I cant remember. I hesitated but then bought it anyway because I figured I can give the herd a better meal and also hopefully stop some crabgrass.

I also plan on a soil drench with some aerated tea. Should I drench before or after CGM or doesnt it matter?

It doesn't really matter other than maybe watering in the CGM with the ACT.

I know this is a co-op feed link, but here are a few dealers you could call to possibly find CGM or other organic fertilizers you might want to use, just use the locate dealer by zip code.

Possibly found a place in Northvale, NJ that carries CGM. Might be too far for you to travel though.
