6 Months Organic

At the end of last summer my St. Augustine was dead in over 50% of my front lawn. I determined that it was TARR and ended up resodding most of the dead areas. This site and others helped me discover that pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides were the probable cause of the TARR. While replacing my lawn I tilled in new top soil. In 1000 square feet of tilling, I didn't see one earthworm or any other living thing for that matter.

After six months of organics I have finally found earthworms in the lawn!!! In addition I found ladybugs, geckos, and many more birds. The diseased parts of the lawn I didn't resod have runners spreading like wildfire. It's not all perfect, as I have plenty of weeds. I assume that it will get better as the turf thickens up. In the mean time I will use my highly addictive weedhound.

Thanks to DCHALL and others for their research and inights.
