Will Burmuda Seeds Sprout?

My front lawn use to be a mix of Weeds, Bermuda, Bahia, and some St.Augustine. Last year I cut the existing lawn/weeds and replaced it with St.Augustine floratam. Needless to say the bermuda still came through. The bermuda is very thin, leggy and sparse. With the last few weeks it started producing seed pods. I have been plucking them by hand for now as I dont want them to sprout. I mow High (4.25") and water once a week.

Do you guys think the Bermuda seeds will sprout?

Sadly, it is a lost cause. I've had to deal with it as well and somehow they popped up right in the middle of the backyard ...

If the original lawn was common bermuda, then yes, the seeds can sprout - If the original was hybrid, then no, the seeds are sterile.

I have no idea what type of Bermuda it is. Would a pic help?

Im guessing the previous owners did not sod or seed with anything as the entire landscape was completely overgrown/run down.

So, with limited water and High mowing, the Bermuda will still sprout?
