Corn Germ instead of CGM

Does anyone kow anything about corn germ? I am looking for a place to buy CGM and one guy told me that he used corn germ and that it was about the same thing. Does anyone have any information about this? I am doubtful, but don't know enough about it to make an educated decision.

Looks like this might be a dupe to this thread.

I have never heard of corn germ. I have written several detailed posts about the differences between CGM and cracked corn. CGM is effective as a preemergent if applied at the correct times. Other than that, it is a good fertilizer as it contains 9% nitrogen. Cracked corn is good for birds. Corn meal is effective for controlling various type of algea and fungal problems. Corn germ, haven't a clue. Do a Google.
