Went to a different feed store and...

found much better prices than the one I previously used. The new store is actually a feed mill, not a feed store, and is in a more rural, agricultural area. For 100 pound bags: SBM $19.75, alfalfa pellets $18.75, corn meal $10.xx, cottonseed meal $19.xx (I think) and distillers grains were $13.75. The other store I was using had SBM for $15 for a 50# bag. The drive is a bit further but it's a pleasant drive, unless I get stuck behind an Amish buggy.

The mills don't have to add shipping costs so I like to shop there, too.

Good point! Anyone have experience with distillers grains? What's the protein %? That's an attractive price...

Would you mind posting where (and names of) these stores are? I also live in SE PA and I haven't been able to find anything but expensive branded organic fertilizers. Thanks.

I've been to Stoltzfus Feed in Gap, PA...they had SBM for $15 for 50#. You may want to call ahead since they only just started carrying it in stock. The other store is Good's Feed Mill in East Earl. This is a true feed store and has just about every common grain in stock. Another store in the area is Pickering Valley Feed in Exton but they didn't have any grains in stock last time I went; they could probably order them though.

I like Allied Feed at the corner of Rigsby and WW White, Lubianski's Place out in St Hedwig, and Mumme's on 281 north of San Antonio.

Allied Feed and Mumme's have several locations in the area.
