Alfalfa pellets

Late last fall I overseeded my 1 acre lawn, I realize that I should have done it earlier and get it to germinate and grow a little before winter. My mistake.
Now I'm wondering if I can fertilize with alfalfa before germination or shortly after?

RE: Alfalfa pellets

You may spread that Alfalfa over the ungerminated seed as long as you do not cover it too deeply. I would not wait until the seed germinates to do that however since the Alfalfa might smother those newly sprouted plants.
