Grass v. Clover

I know, clover's not a bad thing. But, it's overrun my front lawn. Already I am the only one on the block without a lawn service and my clover sticks out like a sore thumb.

Are there any conditions that would favor grass growth over clover? My plan now is to remove the clover by hand, fertilize (organic fertilizer + starbucks) and seed. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I realize that this is going to take time. I'm looking forward to the end of next summer when I have the best looking lawn on the block and no pesticide/synthetic fertilizer run off.
