My wife hates it when I put down cgm. She says it smells like a rotten pumpkin fart. I still am not sure how she knows what that smells like. ;o)

It helps if you ease into it. Use it at a low rate at the first of the year and gradually build up. That gives the microbes time to populate. Once you have them built up, then the odor seems to not last as long.

That smell is the smell of ammonia gas wasting away from protein decomposing. Ideally you want to keep that in the soil.
