It is just a rant. It is unbelievable I was paying $13 last season for a 50lb bag. It is definitely getting harder to maintain.

Ow. Yeah, that would hurt--I'm still at $13.50, up from around $9 last year and that's painful.

My cost actually went DOWN this year. I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and last year I was paying $20 for 90 lbs. and this year it is less than $19. I love that there is no sales tax as well. Just bought 3 bags of it last week. Have already gone through more than half of one bag. A friend actually gave me a gift certificate to buy soy bean meal as a Christmas present (she knows I love the stuff)!

You are very lucky. In SC, at least in the upstate, feed stores do not carry soybean meals as many as they used to, any more. Stores claim that it is not being used as a feed since it is more expensive. I have to request them to order me some. However, Alfalfa is available at a reasonable price, (12.50/50 lb).

It could be worse, we could be having to feed thousands of dollars of it to cattle! ;)
