Very little and not long, unless you have a grass variety that dislikes the chemical you just put on it. The easiest way to go organic is simply to stop using the chemicals.

So, tua culpa...no. I'm not familiar with your grass type or the feeding schedule for Washington, but here you wouldn't need to feed again until August. Somebody with more familiarity with your climate will be able to offer more help.

It's all Costco's fault! There they were on that broad wooden pallet, neatly shacked, shining bags of "Weed and Feed." My mind darted from the immage of the flawless lawn represented on the bag, versus my weed ravaged lawn at home.

Yeah, we've all done it or at least been sorely tempted. Forgive yourself and move on. If you find it keeps you up at night, see a therapist. :-)

There's no reason to be, really. One shot of Weed and Feed isn't going to destroy the environment or poison you. Millions of people using the stuff every year...not so good. You using it once...don't worry about it.

It'll probably even help the lawn look a lot nicer. It sounds like an initial reset before you go organic was, if not required, at least helpful.
