Kevin, I am doing the same as you, except I put down Milogranite first and started to put down compost until a mini moonson ended that crazy idea. This weekend I will resume putting down the compost. Your results has excited me.

When I first switched over to organic, I topdressed my lawn with compost... I've never looked back....

Each spring, around my neighborhood where everyone has bermuda, there seems to be a trend. Brown spots appear as the lawn comes out of dormancy. It looks funny with most all the lawn green except for these 12" to 18" circles/ovals of dead-looking grass. In the last few years since I went organic, I hadn't noticed this in my lawn, but for some reason, this spring I had two noticable brown spring dead spots. I topdressed those with compost & a week later they turned green & two weeks later the turf was as thick & dense as the rest of the lawn.

No one can tell me you cannot have a "high end" looking plush dense lawn using strictly feed grains as fertilizer, the "proof's in the pudding"..... This turf gets no chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides of any kind. I feed it regularly with feed grains & this year, I also sprayed it once with liquid fish fertilizer.
