Yes, that is my lawn. This is actually my first year of organics, so I can't say I have an 'annual program' yet. Basically, in early spring, and have been putting down about 15/lbs per 1,000 sq ft of soybean meal every 6 weeks since then.
I did apply some compost tea in late spring to help increase the microbes since I had used synthetics for a few years. That's really it, though.
Oh, I also cut to 4" (it's KBG), which seems to help a lot.
I find that the soybean meal works wonders. I absolutely love the stuff. We're getting to the point of the year where the sun really starts to burn the lawns around here. Mine, however is nice and green, and pretty thick. I just laugh at my neighbors that water every day and have lots of browning patches :)
I've slowly been tapering off of the watering and am now down to 2 - 3 times a week -- last year it was twice a day in July to keep it from browning!!!! A few folks on here have recommended watering in each zone (I have an irrigation system) for 15 minutes, then letting it soak for an hour, then repeating until you have put down an inch of water. That really seems to work well and I've noticed a huge improvement in water retention in my beautiful clay soil.
