Thanks for the info on moles

Hi,

Yes, I have heard about the baited earthworms but am so reluctant to use poison. My house borders woods so I'm afraid it's kind of a losing battle. Also my neighbor on one side has a golf green kind of lawn, uses all the regular pesticides so they come right over here, and the other neighbor on the other side hardly ever even mows and has 3 cats . My cat offers no help what so ever! I guess it's stamping down all the trails daily until they come up with a better alternative. I've tried trapping them which is tricky, you must be precise...so far no luck in that dept.

Hi, Misfixit -- There was a big discussion regarding moles on one of the Gardenweb forums the end of April.
I got a recipe for discouraging the critters and it is as follows:
6 oz. castor oil
2 tablespoons dish soap
Mix with 1 gallon water. Use in hose-end sprayer. Add 1 ounce mixture per gallon water and apply as drench.
Some genious on Gardeweb came up with this, but I don't know who to give credit.
The first mole run I see, out comes the uckky stuff! You might do a search for moles castor oil and find the original discussion. Hope this helps.
