I've seen Milogranite on our forum. Some says it's organic and some are not. Then there was a mention that it contains some ingredients that are hazardous. After that, I wasn't able to continue reading the thread. So, is this considered organic? What is the lbs. application per 1000 sqft?

Its manufactured from sewer sludge. It's nitrogen is released by soil microbes breaking it down. Most consider it organic, some don't. Some fear minute heavy metals, most don't. Apply per instructions on the bag. About 20 lbs per 1000 sq ft. Milorganite is a very popular, natural fertilizer. Do a google search, tons of information out there about Milorganite.

This thread has the potential to be 100 posts long now that Milorganite has been mentioned. I'd do as Bill says and google it. Let you decide . . .

As far as greening up, I've had the best luck with SBM in the past. I don't put it down until after the heat of the summer though, probably around the first of Sep. So maybe it's more to do with not being heat stressed as opposed to anything. I alternate with alfalfa and SBM.
